Camila, an Argentine politician who left for Europe in search of a new life, sees her plans interrupted when she is locked up in the Madrid, 2020 lockdown. This confinement and the reading of a book make her decide to go in search of her ex-partner, Lothar, an Argentine writer who has been living in Spain for years and with whom she shares a difficult past. Their meeting brings back the complexity and instability of the human emotions.
Director's Statement:
As a visual artist, director, and writer, my goal has always been to explore the complexities of human thought through dialogue and the contradictions between words and actions. During a time of strict lockdown in Madrid, when only seven people could legally gather, I led the team to create *Malos Aires*. The film focuses on two characters, using long sequence shots with a single camera to capture subtle gestures, glances, and the unspoken reactions of the characters. *Malos Aires* aims to create a hyper-realistic experience, immersing the audience in an intimate reality that's difficult to fully comprehend.
«Un romanzo che illumina il nostro senso tragico della vita. Damián Comas è un narratore preciso, duro, profondo. È un autore da non perdere di vista.» Eduardo Antonio Parra
